Providing Security and Safety for VIP and Public Events at Battersea Power Station
In June 2022 Security and Safety Solutions were contacted by one of the UK’s leading creative experience agencies, Bearded Kitten, to support with a really high profile event - which after NDA’s were signed turned out to be the re-opening of Battersea Power Station as a commercial shopping centre. What followed was four months of planning with a project management group of subject matter experts who would work together to develop the event management and safety plan.
Professional Security and Safety Management for Public Opening of Battersea Power Station
There were two stages to the event, the first, a VIP event for 1000 people to be held within the now shopping centre with guests such as overseas royalty, UK MP’s, A list celebrities, shareholders of Battersea Power Station and invited media. Security and Safety Solutions managed security for the whole event and deployed 35 SIA security operators to support in managing safety for the guests and to instil confidence in those attending that someone was looking after their security. The first stage was a great success, went off without incident, and the feedback from the client was exceptional.
The second part of the event was to work in conjunction with the in-house security team, to provide security and safety for the public opening of Battersea Power Station, where crowds of up to 55k were in attendance. In addition to managing security for the Major of London, invited VIP’s, entertainment acts, compares, DJ’s and the bar areas. The Security and Safety Solutions team deployed to facilitate this over three consecutive weekends and was commended for their professionalism and quality of deployed security operator.
